How do i connect to the EA servers on Mercenaries 2?

I know it isnt my disk because the game runs fine when im not connected to xbl. When i am connected to xbl and i am at the menu it says "Connecting to th" and freezes. My friend can connect perfectly and i really want to play the game with him D:.
