How do I put a passwprd on my Netgear wireless router?

I have already went to the website it says to go to on the back of the router (routerlogin.net) and i havent set up a username or password and on the back pf my router it say username:admin password:password, and it wont log in, i need to set a pass word for it becasuse i live in aparmentment and i use a wirless router for my XBL and i constantly lag, PLZ HELP ME :(
