JTAG - Safe or Dangerous?

I am 100% serious, you won't get Best Answer unless you HAVE a JTAG and can get on XBL and show me so. Ex. Modded player color or 10th lobbies ETC. I just want to know because I used to have one but that was before the new updates etc. Honestly how many people get caught hacking.
