What will happen if my xbox live account has invalid credit card?

i have an invalid credit card on my xbl and they still renewed my membership. and no i get emails that i need to resolve this. is only my account gonna get banned or the whole xbox from live? i don't care about the account i can make a new one. i just cant pay them now.
