Hi-Speed internet for XBL?

Ok, so I'm gonna get XBL and I heard I need Hi-Speed internet for it. Our internet is (supposedly) Hi-speed but Speedtestdotnet has proved that to be wrong. My mum is switching the internet in late august so i figure i should get 3 months. Anyway, I need a XBL-worthy connection thats under $100 a month.
