If I change my X-box Live Gamer tag via complaints will I be banned?

I've heard of people changing their XBLGT by having people file complaints about it, but I've also heard that you can get banned from XBL by doing this. Anyone recently done it and know? Does your GT have to be offensive? My GT is RDrcks. Would this work? THANKS!
